Welcome to Monaghan Montessori – a place for the spirit of your child and the spirit of nature to work together!

We will be opening 13th July 2010.  Limited space is available.

What is Monaghan Montessori?

It is an independent school for up to 25 children aged between two and a half and four years of age. From small beginnings we plan to grow into a primary and later a high school like none other in Africa. We will be offering top facilities, instruction and, most importantly, honouring and maintaining the high standards of Montessori education and its philosophy, in the beautiful and secure surrounds of the Monaghan Farm development near Lanseria.

What will the school offer?

Our school will provide an exceptional educational journey for your child.

The surroundings will foster a respect for mother nature and allow your child to experience peace and tranquillity, a rare commodity in our urban lifestyles.

Each day the children will be walking into a nurturing, rich, child-orientated environment that will reinforce their independence and intellectual development.

Their “Prepared Environment” will be filled with only the best Montessori equipment that will entice them to want to learn and work, at their own individual pace.

With a small child to Directress ratio of 1:12, each child will be getting individual guidance and attention.

There will also be a focus on incorporating the environment into the curriculum.  The children will have a hands on experience of growing their own vegetables and fruit in our vegetable garden, understanding the seasons and cycles of nature as well as equipping them with vital life skills.
Active learning is a product of using our five senses, which is truly learning at its best.  By using experiential education, we will be offering our children the highest form of learning possible.

The children with their teachers will explore the sense of wonder that they carry naturally within.  This sense of wonder will be expanded into all areas of learning – maths, language, science, geography, cultural studies, practical life, art, sensorial, music and drama.

Included in the fees:

• Children’s yoga
• Sport, run by an outside facilitator
• Art classes
